Why Choose a McLeod Chaser Bin
Harvest doesn't wait. When you're running against the weather and the header keeps moving, your chaser bin needs to keep up without a second thought. That's the standard every McLeod chaser bin is built to.
As a NSW-based chaser bin manufacturer, we build every bin ourselves, no outsourced components, no cutting corners on steel gauge or weld quality.
When you call us, you're talking directly to the people who made your bin. If something needs attention, we can actually help you sort it.
Our grain chaser bins are available in 20T, 25T, and 30T, giving smaller operations access to the same heavy-duty construction that larger farms rely on.
The Chaser Bin Auger – Speed Without Compromise
The chaser bin auger is where a lot of bins lose time. Too slow, and you're holding up the header. Too aggressive, and you're risking grain damage or mechanical stress during a long day.
Our 17-inch outload auger is sized to move grain efficiently without overcomplicating the drivetrain. Combined with PTO drive and hydraulic grain control, you've got consistent unload rates and easy adjustment from the cab, without needing to get out of the seat mid-run.
The sloping bin sides work alongside the chaser bin auger to keep grain moving freely down to the floor. That means no flat spots and no stopping to clear a blockage in the middle of harvest.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size chaser bin do I need?
It mostly comes down to your header's tank capacity and how hard you want to push through harvest. As a general guide, a chaser bin that holds two to three header loads means you're spending more time harvesting and less time waiting around.
Our 20T is a solid option for smaller operations or paddocks where manoeuvrability matters, the 25T is our most popular all-rounder, and the 30T suits larger programs where unload frequency starts to eat into your day.
If you're not sure, give us a call and we'll talk it through based on your setup.
How does the PTO drive work on your chaser bins?
The auger is driven directly off your tractor's PTO – no separate hydraulic motor required to run the horizontal auger. It's a straightforward, reliable setup that's easy to maintain and less likely to give you trouble mid-harvest. You'll still use hydraulics for grain flow control, but the core drive system is about as simple as it gets.
Can I order a chaser bin to custom specifications?
Yes. We're a fabrication workshop first, so adjusting specs isn't out of the ordinary for us. If you've got specific requirements around discharge side, auger configuration, or anything else, get in touch before you order and we'll let you know what's possible. We'd rather sort that out upfront than have you receive something that doesn't quite fit your operation.
How do I clean out the bin between crops?
The rear ladder gives you safe access inside the bin for cleaning, and the sloping sides are specifically designed so grain doesn't settle or accumulate in corners. For most operators, a clean-out between crops is a straightforward job. If you want to talk through maintenance procedures before you buy, just ask – we're happy to walk you through it.
Do you service or repair chaser bins?
Yes. Our Walgett workshop handles repairs on chaser bins and other agricultural equipment, including machinery we haven't built ourselves. If something's not right with your bin heading into harvest, get in touch as early as you can, and we'll let you know what we can do and how quickly we can turn it around.
I'm not in NSW – can you still help me?
Absolutely. We manufacture and ship chaser bins to farms right across Australia. Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia – we send equipment all over the country. Call us on 0427 281 527 to discuss it with our team.
